It has been a while since I put on in the idea that to acquire an external hard disk before departure would be a good thing, just to have some maintenances, and step find me completely divested if ever I had to suffer the loss of my laptop during stay Bein yes, prevention is better than cure as they say, and this proverb is rather applied twice than one in computer science! (But yes, remember therefore, your plans of studies lost the day before presentation further to a PC which decides to die, without the slightest maintenance under the hand! And there, it is drama!)

In short, finances having taken back a small breathing in the hollow of a wave (thanks to the family), I launched into a market research, with a lot of word of mouth (rather from the doigts-aux-yeux in fact, in view of the fact that it was by MSN) and of valuable comparators, to hesitate finally between three models, all in the same valuable order:

• Iomega Silver Series 320Go;
• Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 250Go;
• Western Digital Passport II 120Go;

What to choose? For this price, My Book, alloying design and performances would have taken it on Silver Series, giving however a bigger capacity. But it was without counting dimensions and weight of these products: was it really judicious to opt for a heavy hard disk 1,3kg as part of my trip?

I therefore finally chose Passport II, benefiting from an extra flat and compact design with a watered effect of the nicest effect, from a feeding directly assured by USB 2.0 (no additional loader therefore), and especially of a weight of 178g only! In short, I judged that he would be perfectly adapted to the passenger that I am going to be, by the freedom of mobility which he will confer on me. And it is outright case: so big as my hand, he slips easily into any pocket of tidying up

Having formatted by base in FAT32, and delivered with a cable USB (of 55cm according to the note but rather 25 in reality), the peripheral is compatible Mac and Windows. Ready for job, it is about a nice object, adapted to the mobile persons, price of which just reflects this transportabilit , following the example of the performances which remain however widely reasonable
