In spite of three weeks to survey the streets of Buenos Aires district by district, we still had not approached the very famous Obelisk of Buenos Aires, still seen from a distance. Devil. But what tourists let us make, I ask for it you!
Located on Avenida 9 of Julio, the Obelisk is indeed one of the most important icons of the city, with the Plaza de Mayo. On the eve of our departure for the North of the country, we therefore milled of our not on the district of San Nicol s, to earn the Plaza de la Rep blica since the Plaza General San Mart n, by visiting at the same time the famous pedestrianized street Florida, considered to be the biggest shopping centre of the country. Tourist attraction of the city for a long time named in our ears since our arrival, Calle Florida introduces a big variety of trade and shops, selling the leather shop, the clothes, the jewellery, books, memories and others. The leather notably is not very expensive to it, contrary to the hi-fi equipment, appreciably to the same price as in France. In short, not very unaccustomed for an European tourist, who will be able to find this type of ambience in London or in Paris, contrary in a South American who will come express to sniff this atmosphere sweating the money. But this heritage is however part of Buenos Aires and contributes to this picture if cosmopolitan which makes the worldwide notability of the capital. This being said, we will confess you that we either did not drag our leggings (it is fashionable here, so yes!) too much for a long time in the corner, because of warning repeated who had been addressed to us about the pickpockets, strongly attracted by the rich "customers" . Also we cleared off on Avenida Corrientes, not just to play too much with the fire, and attain the Obelisk before nightfall, to optimise my plates. And it is therefore on the corner of the street that majestically stood far in front of us this phallic form 67,5m high, located in the place where was hoisted officially for the first time the Argentinian flag in the city of Buenos Aires in 1816. One besides reminds by an inscription on one of the sides of the monument of this circumstance. And when they are right by, it is necessary to admit that for comparison, that of Marseilles is bluntly small player. To me finally token, to us they have OM, not plainly?
